Gardner and his wife were students of Kit King Louis at USC and she accompanied them when they sailed for China for an extended visit in June 1931. MURDER UP MY SLEEVE was the result of Gardner's desire to set a mystery in China and he dedicated his book to Kit King Louis. Also included is a copy of the Spring 1996 issue of USC Trojan Family Magazine with an illustrated article about Kit King (whose real name was Lei Jieqiong) with much about her relationship with the Gardners. Also included is a signed letter from Eric Mankin, the author of the article
